The Project

Opperated by the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), oneIoTa is a web-based tool built to encourage the design of interoperable device data models for the Internet of Things (mostly in using RAML and JSON). oneIoTa is an open source tool for developing and managing the open resources of OCF and other organizations in the IoT space.

For a comparison, what oneIota strives to do is not too different from what the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) does for web standards. Although what is different is that oneIota.org, in the form of code submissions, accepts protocol proposals directly on their site. This enables crowd-sourcing of data models and allows for the rapid development of new devices for the Internet of Things.
